4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: 1994 s10 blazer, s10 blazer, chevy dealer

Question
I have a 94 s10 blazer with push button four wheel drive. It is a rocker switch that has an amber light and a green light. I Push the green button to engage or disengage the 4 wheel drive but i am not sure what the amber light is for. I do not have a manual for this and i have looked online and found nothing. I was wondering if you could tell me exactly how it works and what the lights are for. If i push the amber light the green light comes on and the amber one blinks. Not sure what that did so any help will be appreciated.

Answer
Dennis,

I am not real familiar with the Blazers, but I would suspect that one of the buttons is for 4-wheel drive High Range, and the other is for 4-wheel drive Low Range.  I would suggest that you go on line to e-bay, or Amazon.com and see if you can find a user's manual for your Blazer.  You may be able to get a manual at a Chevy dealer also.  You should purchase a repair manual from you local auto parts store for the vehicle.  These are great if you want to do any trouble shooting, maintenance or repair yourself.  They are quite reasonable, costing around $20.
