4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Ford headrests, headrests, ford explorer

Question
The headrests on our 2001 Ford Explorer (2 door) don't lower so we can't use all the interior space. There aren't any obvious buttons or levers. Could this be a manufacturing flaw? or are these perhaps not the original ones?

Answer
More than likey there is a button that locks the headrests up and it should be located at the base of the headrest where the two bars go into the seat itself, its going to be on the back side of the little plastic piece that is on the top of the seat. If there is not one then I can honestly say I dont know what to tell you
