4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: VW Touareg, daytime running lights, manual override

Hi. My husband and I just purchased a 2004 vw touareg. I was wondering if by any chance you happen to know how to turn off the daytime running lights off. The reason why I am asking this is because they are on at all times the vehicle is on. That doesn't bother us. What bothers us that you can't turn them off when we have to, like at drive-in movies. I hope you can resolve my issue. Please HELP!

Daytime running lights are meant to be on anytime the engine is running for safety.  I  am not sure if there is a manual override on this feature, but if you call your local VW dealership and ask for the service department they should be able to help you.  Best of luck, Bud
