4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: SERVICE ENGINE SOON, mileage indicator, gm dealer

My GMC Jimmy SLE modle truck often displays 'Service Engine Soon'.  I got it checked with the local GM dealer and erased it couple of times. But it appears ofen. Please advise.

Hi Rangaraj and thanks for the question.  The Service Engine Soon light is a warning device,  BUT, is not actually a sensor as much as a time or mileage indicator.  I would go to my local GM dealer and see if the sensor is malfunctioning.  You do not state the age or mileage of your vehicle so I do not know if this is under warranty.  In either case it should be a simple fix and if not under warranty should not be too expensive.  Best of luck.  Bud
