4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Spark plug gap, 2003 subaru forester, subaru forester

Question
I purchased new Champion double platinum spark plugs for my 2003 Subaru Forester and have no idea what to set the gap at. My manual does not give any info on spark plug settings. Please help if you can. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Paul,

I'm not sure on that model.  This is real unusual that the manual wouldn't have the gap listed.  On some of the newer cars, the gap is listed on a sticker located under the hood, along with smog specifications.  Usually the plugs come gapped for the engine that they are designed for.  You can check with most auto parts stores, and they will look this up for you.  If they can't, give the dealer a call, and ask to talk to a shop technician.  With some of the newer cars, and the electronic ignitions, the gap can be quite wide compared to the older cars.
