4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Protecting Finish on New Car, cadallac escalade, maguires wax

I just bought my wife a new Cadallac Escalade -- black.  We decided to forgo the $900 "protection" for the paint and leather seats.  Should we do this (it is not too late) or, instead, what is the BEST product to protect the finish and leather of this vehicle.
Hope I am in an area of expertise you are familiar with... and thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks Don for the question.  I commend you for not buying the 900.00 package, it is a ripoff.  I personally like maguires wax products.  They take a little extra time and effort but are well worth it.  For the leather I use a product made in England call Hide Food which is sold in MB, BMW and Volvo dealerships.  Again, it is fairly expensive but well worth it.  If you have a problem finding any of the above let me know and I will see if I can help you find them.  Best of luck, Bud
