4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: gmc/chevrolet vehicle difference, gmc yukon, chevrolet vehicle

Question
Hi Bud, I'm considering buying a '04 chevrolet tahoe. I've also looked at the gmc yukon's. Is there any difference in quality or the way they are manufactured. The gmc salesmen swear the gmc vehicles are better made with different materials. The chevrolet guys say there is no difference. Can you shed any light?

Answer
Basically, the only difference in the Tahoe and the Yukon are cosmetic.  The drive train and chassis are basically the same.  Go to edmunds.com and check on the resale price of each model that are 2-3 years old and see if there is a substantial difference.  Also, check there for recalls and what other owners think about them.  Best of luck, Bud
