4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Exhaust hangers for 89 pioneer 2x2, muffler shops, exhaust hangers

Question
I have a 89 Pioneer 2x2 inline 6.  I've just gone through exhaust hell, and now I have a new problem.  The intermediate pipe just before the Cat is banging on a cross member.  There does not appear to be an actual hanger there, so I'm at a loss.  What can I do to stop the banging and the damage that will occur there?

Answer
Brent,

What I would do, is to talk to some of your local muffler shops, and see if they will weld in an additional hanger for you.  If not, they may have another solution.  Also, you could have them check out the motor, and transmission mounts.  If these are worn, they can allow movement that will cause the problem you are experiencing.  We have a great muffler shop here.  They will bend and route the tail pipes just to eliminate any chances of touching any other parts of the vehicle.
