4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: Gift help, turbo mufflers, import truck

Question
My brother has a Toyota Tacoma TRD 4WD, Extended cab. Manual Trans.  The engines, the (can't remember the exact litres) biggest offered for that truck. It rides high, but it's just a factory raised truck.
I'd like to buy him an aftermarket part for his truck that will improve the performance.(Something along the lines of "Oh wow!" not "Holy!")  but I'm only doing this once, so the part I give him I want it to be worth it. I expect to be able to spend approx 200-400 dollars.


I've looked around online for an import truck tuner bulletin board, but appearently this market segment doesn't exist. So, I'm kinda hoping you could help me out?

What you are looking for is to buy a 3 to 4 inch lift kit or some turbo mufflers to boost horsepower and give it a real nice rumble sound.
