Isuzu: Axle ratio, ford bronco ii, 1988 ford bronco

Question
I have a 1988 ford bronco II, 5 speed manual transmission.  I really like the shift ratio in the bronco.
I also have a 1999 rodeo, 5 speed manual transmission.  I really dislike the shift ratio in the rodeo.
The rodeo transmission specifications are:
     Rev.  3.873
     1st   3.767
     2nd   2.248
     3rd   1.404
     4th   1.000
     5th   0.809
The rodeo axle specifications are: 4.3

The bronco axle specifies 3.45

I would like to have the rodeo shift simular to or just like the bronco.

If I have the axle gears changed in the rodeo could I expect to achieve a simular shift ratio that I have in the bronco?  Would I have to have the transmission modified also?

I would appreciate any advice or thoughts that you
have reguarding manual transmission and gear ratio
concerns in the rodeo.
Thanks

Answer
I'm sorry but I have very little knowledge of manual transmission for the Izusus. I don't think though, that changing the axle gears would change the shift ratio in the transmission. I would double check with someone more experienced with that topic though.
