Jeep: Aux fan in back of the radiator, jeep cheroke, temperature switch

Question
I've got an old 1988 Jeep Cheroke, 4.0, 5 Speed
Tranie. The auxiliary fan or what ever it's called has stopped working. They do not show a fuse or breaker for that in the owners mannual.
I would guess that theres a thermo switch somewhere on the engine or radiator, but I don't see it.Jeep starts to heat-up if I let it idiol
to long. Can you help?

Answer
There are a couple of parts that might be at fault.  Given the age of your Jeep and the probable mileage on it, I would have a mechanic start by checking the wiring circuit to the fan, the fan itself, the fan relay and the temperature switch in the engine block.
