Jeep: 2000 Grand Cherokee Rotors, jeep grand cherokee laredo, jeep grand cherokee

Question
Ron,
Hello, I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
6 cyl.  I have heard, don't know if it is true, that Chrysler had some problems with the front rotors for that year.  I have 35000, not punishing, miles on mine and have already cut the rotors once and 6 months later they are vibrating again.  I am going to replace them, question is with what brand.  I searched PartsAmerica.com today and found the following:
Bendix- $35  Raysbestos - $56 and Chrysler- $65
Do you have any suggestions or tips.
    Thanks,
        Greg

Answer
Grand Cherokees used composite rotors.  In other words, two types of metal were melted together to form the rotor: one type for the hub another for the rotor face.  I would suggest purchasing "aftermarket CAST IRON rotors" from about any auto parts store.  I pay about 30 bucks a piece for mine. They weight a little more than the factory rotors but you do not have to turn often because they warp.
