QUESTION: Sir, I was not clear , have fuel  timing belt is good "popped cover" no spark out of coil. Changed coil still no spark, fuse fine. Hot wired coil still no spark good cap rotor and ecm. mod. was purring and sounded like no spark or no timing belt. Thank you John D Wilcox

Answer
The entire ignition system consists of the plugs coil and wires, and the electronics contained within the distributor.
All the activating of the coil takes place in the distributor.
The quality of connections is more often a problem than the electronics inside, but they are individually replaceable.
I strongly suspect the multi plug going into the distributor of having a marginal connection.  That is what has happened to me a time or two, and cleaning and making certain the connectors were good usually solved it for a couple of years.  When I first got it, the electronics in the distributor were intermittently bad, which is part of the reason I got it cheap, although I wasn't aware of that right away.
