Suzuki: 96 Suzuki Sidekick 1.8L, suzuki sidekick, screw mechanism

Question
I have two questions.  First my accessory belt is squeeling.  The belt is in good shape.  The alternator doesn't have a typical sliding groove to tighten belt.  What component do I adjust to tighten belt and how?

Second, my sidekick sometimes likes to kickback for a second when increasing speed and RPM, the whole car jolts back for just a second then speeds along normal.  I can hear the engine bog down during that split second also.  It seems to do it more often in lower gears(its a manual).  The engine doesn't do it when in neutral and just increasing RPM, only when moving.  I can't hear any abnormal sound when it happens either.  Its not very consistent...one day it will do it a lot and the next very little.  Any useful tips and answers?

Answer
If i remember correctly, there is a nut that locks it in place, and a screw mechanism that adjusts tension.  On some, the tension is adjusted at the idler pulley.

I suspect the throttle position switch.  You need to get a service manual (look around online).
It will have the adjustment and measuring specifications and procedures.

I only have literature for my '87 Samurai.  Sorry.
