Suzuki: my two sjs, colorado rocky mountains, diesel conversion

i have two questions, i have recently been given a sj413 samurai and it worked when i first got it but i left it out in a field for months and no i have brought it back in and charge it filled it with petrol and i turned the key it started to start but then all the lights on the dashboard went out and it is not un responsive on the key, i just want to know were to start as i want to us this a daily driver now. second is my other sj410 which the body is beaten but not bad and i want to change the engin to a desiel as i saw one in France this year, and it looks like a good conversion, do you which engine it is, all i know was it was a reaunt engine. i just need help sorry

It sounds like you have a poor electrical connection, most likely at the battery.  Take all the battery connections loose and clean them. (baking soda and water is very good, just DON'T GET ANY IN THE BATTERY)   the wires leading to the ignition switch and fuse block are common corrosion issues at the battery connection.

The only diesel conversion I know of is using the VW 1.9 turbodiesel.  (that's the only readily available diesel that fits in a Samurai in the US, that works well in the swap)
