Suzuki: 2005 kawasaki doesnt start and low compession, kawasaki brute force, kawasaki brute force 750

Question
I have a 2005 kawasaki brute force 750. it has low low compression its at about 5-8 psi and the manual calls for 36-66 psi. its a v-twin and both cylinders are at 5-8psi. I put a little oil down in the cylinders and the compression goes up to about 53 psi on both cylinders. i did a leak down test i can hear air coming from the intake and a little from the exhaust but no air from the oil filler. the oil has no water in it and the radiator has no oil in it. It has spark and fuel coming in. do you think a valve adjustment will help. i'm not sure where to go from here. i just want to know what its is. is it the valves the head gasket the cylinder wall, the piston. any ideas would be usefull. i take it in the mud a lot do you think maybe some dirt got inside the engine around the top end?

thanks in advance

Answer
I have never seen one of those, but I suggest you try adjusting the valves and recheck compression.
At that point, if compression improves to spec, problem solved.
The fact that the compression improved that much with the introduction of oil to the cylinders makes me suspicious of the quality of the piston/ring/cylinder wall seal.
