Suzuki: wheel play, suzuki sj410, wheel hubs

Question
Hi Dave. I have a Suzuki SJ410 with free wheel hubs on the front. There is a bit of play on the one front bearing. How do I go about adjusting the play out?
Many thanks in anticipation
John

Answer
You have to remove the free wheel hub (unscrew the allen head bolts) then remove the circlip that holds the inner portion of the hub to the axle.  You then will have access to the adjusting nuts.  Most have a locking tab that has to be bent back to loosen the outer lock nut.  then withdraw the locking tab and adjust the inner nut to remove the excess play.  The service manual has a procedure for this.  Make certain that you recheck to make certain you have removed the excess play after re-installing the lock tab and tightening the outer lock nut.
