Tips on Buying Cars: Choosing between the two cars, 2000 cadillac deville dts, cadillac dts

Question
I am interested in getting one of the two cars from carmax.  a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 2D Coupe and a 2000 Cadillac Deville DTS both have the same amount of miles 80,000 and they are the same price $11, 998  what is a much better car which one breaks down more often the cadillac or hyundai someone told me a cadillac breaks down more often then a hyundai.  Also which is more gas expensive and which is cheaper on gas.

Thank you for your time.

Answer
There was a time when Hyundais were quite unreliable, but their reputation has improved dramatically in the past five years.  The Cadillac DTS is okay, but would probably develop more problems over the next couple years than the Hyundai.  The Cadillac is a more complex car than the Tiburon, so there's just more to go wrong, and these complex GM electronics tend to have more problems as the car ages.  Insurance rates tend to have more to do with your personal driving record than the model of car you drive, but all other things being equal the Tiburon might have a higher insurance rate for a younger driver.  The Tiburon would deliver slightly better gas mileage.  The better car?  These are VERY different cars (small and sporty vs. big and luxurious), so only you can decide which is the better car for you.
