Tips on Buying Cars: new or used, dodge ram 3500, independent mechanical inspection

Question
im considering buying a dodge ram 3500 1 ton diesel for hauling a 3 car trailer i have my own car hauling business im torn wether to buy new or used i have been looking around and i can get a used truck that has 100,00 or less miles truck for 20,000 or less I've been told you can get several hundred thousand miles on them with the Cummins my payment would be lower than a new 40,000$ truck i could pay it off in just 2 0r 3 yrs if i went used but there is no warranty on these trucks if i went new i would have a bigger payment but i would have a 100,000m warranty but i would be paying for it for years when it would be payed off it would be worn out with all miles i would have put on it what would be the best way to go ?

Answer
Hi Randall
There is no question in my mind the way to go is used unless you got money to burn, the key factor however will be to make sure you end up with valid value, follow my steps how I appraise a vehile for condition and value  http://www.usedcartips.org/TESTDRI.html  should the truck pass your inspection then make deal subject to an independent mechanical inspection, if seller wont let you, then you must walk away from the deal.

Here are some other key area's to consider

# 1... I like the fact you have done some homework, lets see if you got quoted the best price on a new truck, on my website you will find banners that give new car quotes, simply fill out the fields and you will get email quotes back with no obligation on your part.

# 2... If you end up buying used then make sure seller provides you with complete history, again you can find this information on your own through Carfax banners on my website, but its not free.

# 3... Insurance become another cost factor to compare new and used vehicle, you may at present been satisfied for years using the same insurance company, but I can assure you may also most likely have been paying more to much without knowing, I get much mail from consumers that have saved hundred of dollars by using Century 21, you will find the link on my website for detail.

# 4... You mentioned Warranty, while its a good idea it also becomes a cost fator if its worth the bucks personally I am not the type that would buy a warranty, but if your considering you will find Warrnaty Direct one of the best in United states, you can read about them on my website.

Hope this helps
