Tips on Buying Cars: honda civie le, honda civic sedan, domestic vehicles

Question
We are very much considering purchasing a 2007 honda civic sedan LE with an interest rate of 4.9 for 5 years.  The sticker price was 18,333.We talked them down about a thousand below that price.  In your opinion is this a fair price for the vehicle?  Your opinion on the vehicle?  Any other info would be appreciated. We are looking for a small sedan and this is consumer reports #1 pick.

Thanks,

Answer
Hi Joseph
The Honda Civic is an excellent choice, however some domestic vehicles like the Ford's and imports like the Hyundai's with their excellent warranty have come a long way the last few years, its really up to you how you like the way a car handles compared to another.
Summary... If I found a Ford or Hyundai that I liked along with the price I would have no problem buying.

Buying a brand new vehicle there is little room for negotiations compared to buying a used model.
Sure you can get another $ 50. or $ 100. further discount by shopping around or driving all over the state, but how much is your time worth ?.

With the tools at hand today best prices will be obtained by Internet shopping, go to this link and click on the Edmonds' banner   http://www.usedcartips.org/  you can get several quotes and be well prepared prior to entering a dealership.
