Tips on Buying Cars: Car value..., rust holes, aluminum wheel

Question
Hello,

How do you determine the value of your car? These days, all I see is the usual NADA, Edmunds and KBB for getting a roundabout value, but this doesn't apply to my 1982 Ford Mustang Gt(110K miles) because it doesn't account for changes and mods to it. My car is a 302HO 4 speed hatchback with these attributes:

TRX aluminum wheel package, metric tires
Edelbrock Performer 750 carb
Edelbrock Performer dual plane intake
aluminum water pump
Summit hypereutectic piston engine kit@89K
Flowmaster American Thunder dual exhast catback system
Summit H-pipe
Accel superstock ignition coil, cap and rotor

Some new parts also. Body is fair though because of much surface rust that needs attending to on the hood, roof and hatch. The car is solid underneath, no rust holes. I've owned it for about 8 yrs, each year driving it in Summer and off the road in October/November. Interior needs some detailing, but for the most part not bad for year. It's a daily driver, but I havent driven it last year and thought about selling. How can I go about determining a fair price for this vehicle since I obviously got a bit of money in it?

Thanks for your ideas,
Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,

This question is outside the area of my expertise, but I'll gladly share my opinion with you. I think that all you can do is search (probably online) for any other cars similar to yours that are for sale. Obviously you'd take into account their various conditions and levels of equipment. You get a fair idea of what to ask for yours after that. Good luck!
