Tips on Buying Cars: Regarding Buying a cheap car., fuel injection system, 351 windsor

Question
I would like to know what you think is the easiest car to fix is, besides an old VW bug. I have limited funds and limited working space. I'm looking for the smallest and least expensive to repair car I can find. Any suggestions?

Answer
This can depend on your skills... to me.. an old carbureted v8 is easier to fix than a fuel injected inline 4.... only because i've worked on more of the older cars than newer... my mustang is easy because its just a carbureted engine with a fuel injection system slapped on top... if you are talking mechanic wise... a 90-95 civic would be fairly cheap... if you buy the parts yourself you will save a ton of money.. they have a HUGE parts bin available.. and you can probably find one for under $2000... a cheaper option is a CRX - similar car only a little older... as long as you find one that isn't burning a lot of oil and it hasn't been ragged out it is likely to be the most reliable and cheapest to fix option you have... if you do the work yourself you may wish to aim more for what you know.. if you know v8's... any 302/351 windsor powered ford, or 350 powered chevy should be cheap to fix if the engine messes up - its when the rest of the vehicle dies that they get expensive... i say take a look at some little civics for sale.. lemme know what you think and get back to me..
