Tips on Buying Cars: Odometer reading inconsistent, value finder, honda accord

Question
I am planning to buy a 97 honda accord (47906). The carfax report states that that odometer reading is inconsistent. There are supposedly three owners of the car - last being the one I am planning to buy from. The second owner is seems never used the car even though he owned it for 2 years. Is this potentially a problem? The cost stated is 5000. Also, the exhaust need replacement. How much should I offer?

Answer
Hi Vishal
Buying a car 10 years old the odometer reading does not come into play compared to overall condition there are many vehicles with double the miles in better condition than some same models with half the miles

As for price you can go edmonds.com and many other sites, my first choice is autotrader.com...submit your zip and 100 miles ratio along with details of vehicle your interested in, your case the 97 Honda...compare miles and equipment and it will give you some ides what your dealing with, there is also a value finder on the site

now the most important steps to follow
