Tips on Buying Cars: Cadillac Deville, toyota avalon, cadillac deville

Question
I am considering buying a 2003-2005 Cadillac Deville.  I'm a little nervous because I haven't purchased an american car, especially a used one in many years.  I currently have a 1999 Toyota Avalon with 124,000 miles and is running fantastic.  I just want a Cadillac.  As you can see I keep my cars a while.  What is the reliability of these cars and at $3.00+ per gallon what kind of gas mileage can I expect?  I am currently averaging 24 MPG on my Avalon.

Answer
Hi Ken
One of my cars happen to be a Deville and i use it mostly when in the company of 2 or more people or when i just feel like floating down the hwy...
I really like the Deville for space - reliability and long distance driving...
While most cars depreciate approx 25% first year the Cady depreciation factor is much greater and makes it a good value buying used, from there the depreciation factor levels out...
The northstar cady engine i consider one of the very best and have seen many with over 200k

NEGATIVES
If your the type person that find it hard to park in a busy mall - dont buy a Deville...
Its an absolute PIG on gas, i never pay much attention to per gallon stats as every vehicle is driven differently...

but i will share with you this fact... driving to a destination where it cost me $ 30 it only cost me $ 20. if i take my wife's Buick
