Tips on Buying Cars: Life expectancy, median life expectancy, volvo v70

I am thinking of purchasing a Volvo V70 for my family.  I am interested in finding out the life expectancy on a Volvo.  Roughly how many miles does it go before major repair needs to be done?  Considering it will be mostly used for city driving.  My zip code is 93010.  Thanks.

At every Volvo assembly plant, quality is the priority, zero defects are the objective...According to a recent independent study by Polk, the median life expectancy of all Volvos on the road today is 18.6 years, many Volvos have surpassed 1 million miles...
As for major repairs it really comes down to how the car was cared for,some vehicle with 200k can be in excellent condition compared to some with only 80k in poor condition...
