Tips on Buying Cars: Buying a Volkswagen Passat, independent mechanical inspection, volkswagen passat

My wife and I are looking into buying a used '02 Volkswagen Passat with 45,000 miles.  The dealer is offering $14,500 for it, not including tax and other expenses.  This car has a sunroof, leather seats, and seems to be in good condition on the test drive.  Is $14,500 a killing or should we be very cautious because it's almost too good to be true?  What should we look out for with a Volkswagen Passat?  Is it that good of a car?

If this vehicle checks out then its a valid value...get a carfax on vehicle and make the condition to have an independent mechanical inspection done its worth the extra bucks and will give you peace of mind as to Flood damage Salvage or Accident repair..
should this not be allowed then sorry to say you must walk away from the deal...
