Do you think it is a good idea to buy the car paint sealant offered by the dealership when purchasing a new car?
does it really preserve the paint longer?
if so is the price reasonable??($200+)

Hi Diane and thanks for the question.  While there are always exceptions a paint sealant on a modern car is usually a ripoff due to the quality and durability of modern automotive paints.  This is normally just another profit for the dealer.  VW has among the very best of finishes.  If the dealer can show there is a definite and proveable benefit the price is not terrible, but I doubt it.  Best of Luck, Bud
