but is saturn good compared to all the other american cars?? and also i wanted to know does subaru have any serious mechanical problems??

Yes, in terms of quality, saturn ranks among the other top american cars(ford, chevy, etc). They are made by GM, who makes chevy, cadillac, and the other great quality cars, so you cant go wrong. As for subaru, they're kinda quirky. Their engine setup is kinda strange, and depending on the model, a mechanic may charge more than usualy simply because it is harder to work on. So unless it is a newer model witha  warranty, I would stay away from it. If you have a choice between the saturn, toyota, or subaru, I'd say saturn is first, then the toyota, but both are great cars quality-wise. Hope this helped.
