Tips on Buying Cars: Used Truck purchase, ford f150 xlt, fleet cars

Question
I am looking at a 2000 Ford F150 XLT with 34,000 miles.  From Carfax i learned that it passes all categories except that it was originally a fleet vehicle. It was purchased by a Ford dealer at auction and they have had the title for nearly 10 months.

I am confident that i can get it at a great price, even lower now knowing its been on their lot so long.  Im concerned about it being a fleet truck and not know its maintenance history or whether it was abused.  Is buying a former fleet truck a bad move?   thanks for any help

Answer
Hi John
I would not be concerned about it being a fleet...a lot of these fleet cars are better maintained for service than private owned...besides it was not a trade at Dealership...it was purchased for re-sale by Dealer...Means used car manager thought it valid value at the time
Now every Dealer gets stuck with some purchases...some reasons are asking to much to start and then suddenly no demand or the market has got plenty to offer
In inventory 10 months...yes your in the driver seat and my guess is you will get it at cost or a bit below...any Dealer Principal does not want 10 month inventory...
Now it bothers me a bit the car has been idle for 10 Months..( the rotors )need replace or machine ?...
I would like for you to check my website   www.usedvehiclefacts.ca   click on Test drive...Take to mechanic...etc...Good luck John
