Tips on Buying Cars: Kia, nissan sentra, going out of business

Question
My wife and I bought a new 1999 Nissan Sentra, and have been very pleased with it, but it now has over 90,000 miles, so we are starting to consider what to get next.
A co-worker told me that Kias are being sold for 1/2 price!  I heard they were going out of business.  Due to the great financial deal, would it outweigh the risk of buying an out of business make of car?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Bill and thanks for the question.  First to the fact that Kia's are being sold for half price is not correct.  They have hefty money back from the manufacturer and are relatively inexpensive to behin with.  As to them going out of business they are owned by the same folks who own Hyundai(the vehicless are virtually identical except for trim) and are in no danger of business.  Third they have an excellent warranty even though the number of dealers is somewhat limited.  I admire you for checking the facts before you make a decision.  For more info go to edmunds.com and check their tests, pricing, rebates and evaluation of the Kia model you are looking for.  If you have more specific questions I will be glad to help..
