Tips on Buying Cars: 2 questions on new cars, used, car

Question
I haven't bought a new car in many many years and had 2 questions... I'm interested in the Scion tC but saw no mention of a GPS system as being standard or even an option for this vehicle, which I don't understand. I actually thought most cars now come with that, or don't they?
This vehicle comes with keyless entry but evidently the security/alarm system is extra, almost $500. I hear car alarms go off so often, most people ignore it, maybe even the thief? Plus they seem to go off when they shouldn't. So my question on that is, is it worth that money to get it? Thanks for your feedback on these 2 things.

Answer
Hi Lee,

I really like your question saying many many years, makes me feel like someone close to my age, and if that the case options come in second to performance that would fit my lifestyle.

GPS come as standard equipment in some model cars, options in some other type models, and not available in some models.

GPS only a few years ago was an added feature in some cars at a cost of over $2000.,,, well today you can buy one to stick on your dash for $100. or a bit over that is every bit as good, you want to be fancy having it build into your dash,,, go ahead,,, your coin not mine.

Keyless entry I like, paying almost $500. extra for an alarm would be out of the question unless I had money to burn, but hey that is just me from the old school of thoughts.

Now,,, if you need help to get the best deal out there,,, that is my expertise,,, and if you buying brand new I suggest you read  up on this link on my website for starters to pick up a few pointers.
