Tips on Buying Cars: car purchase, kia sportage, time warranty

Question
I purchased a 2009 Kia Sportage and after getting it home I did not like the features.  I am 65 and it did not have arm rest, no electric seats, etc and no room hardly at all.I called the dealership and voiced my dislikes after a week.  I paid 3500 down and told them that I wanted to upgrade to the 2011 Sorento, it was more user friendly.
Well, They told me they would find me something. I waited, waited, called again, told them I did not want to make payments on that car anymore. I was promised again, waited, called again.  They told me that I did not have any time warranty to change my mind on a deal. I thought all buyers had at least 30 days to change your mind. Well after about 5 calls they said they found a car.  I had made a car payment on the car I had about 2 days prior. They said I couldn't get my money back, they would not let that payment go toward the other car, they said I couldn't get any of the 3500 payment back and I had to give them 1000 more to get the upgrade.  I know that I have been cheated, but, didn't know who to contact or how.  I need to know if I had a time period to which I could change my mind. I am a single woman and really can't afford to be cheated.  I need some sound advise and should I contact the Attorney General's office? Help me please with this matter. Look to hear from you.  The car was sol to me new, however it had 300+miles on it.

Answer
Hi Alma,
Sorry you are having problems....I do not know what state you are in, Here in Florida, there is not any cooling off period, you buy new or used and you own it, period...Didn't you know about seats and armrest prior to signing for the car??? Did you test drive it???? Wish i could give you better news, but i will tell you this, a 2011 Sorento is a BIG upgrade from a 2009 Sportage, if they will give you a new 2011 for only $1000 more i would do it, but here is where i am unclear....A 2 year newer Kia, and an ugraded Kia at that for ONLY $1000??????? I kind of doubt it. How many months is your loan on the Sportage????? If it is 60 months, make sure the 2011 Sorento is not for 72 months...Please give me more information so i can make sure we are clear on everything!!!
