Tips on Buying Cars: Purchasing High Mileage and Financing Question, buick rendezvous, color indigo

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I am entertaining purchasing a 2003 Buick Rendezvous with 95,600 miles on it.  The car appears to be in good shape, and sounds good. The price they are giving me is $7995, however I know that the blue book value is only $8050.  I'd like to negotiate for a lower price as well as I'm wondering if this kind of car is worth it with so many miles.  I plan to finance the car through my credit union, and my interest rate is high due to some issues with my credit.  Of course the dealership (every dealership I go to) wants to try to beat the rate, however I haven't had one to be able to yet.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated as to how to proceed.

2003 Buick Rendezvous

These are all retail prices, When I look up what private parties are selling for in your area, I see around $5500 for a base model non 4wdrive, You need to e-mail whom ever your dealing with, not go in, Tell them you are pre approved and that you will offer them 5900 + taxes and that you will buy it now if they can come to your terms. Now if they do that you need to keep your word with them. If they come in higher I would keep on looking??? maybe depends on how much higher and is it a base model?
You know your credit better than anyone, DO NOT LET anyone else pull your credit, Your not borrowing that much money that a interest rate will make that much difference in your payment, you will do more damage to your credit score by letting people keep pulling your credit. It's the end of the month and all dealers are trying to make their quotas, if they can get you to finance with them, then they can bill the deal for the month of June, if it's outside financing, they know that they will have to wait for a draft from your bank and most likely the wont be able to count the deal until July. Let me know if you need more? Good Luck
