Tips on Buying Cars: car lease, lease, finance

Question
tonight my husband and i began the process of buying a car and then switched to a lease which we thought looked more affordable... after our very friendly finance rep prepared the documents and had us sign we saw some issues in the contract that were of concern once we were placed back into the the hands of our sales rep. We asked to speak to the finance rep again but were told  told that the finance rep was busy with another client. We drove the car home with hesitation and called the dealership immidiately expressing further concerns... we'd like to cancel this contract and hopefully come to terms with a contract that is fair or switch back to purchase rater than lease... what are the legal options regarding what we were TOLD the lease was offering and what reads very differently???? uhgggg please help... we feel a bit taken, many thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Answer
Hi Renee

Lease is not for everyone, personally I think financing is the way to go in todays market

A reputable dealership will let you make the switch, but some dealerships may not as they may be realizing more profit from the lease. Without knowing all the details I am kind of limited with my response.

RE,,, What you were told and what you read comes down to having to prove misrepresentation if this ends up being nasty.

Hopefully you will work this out with the dealer " if not " here is a link on my website   http://www.usedcartips.org/dispute.html    that will give you some free advice.

If you end up being dissatisfied I would like to know the dealers name and what transpired as there are ways for you to let other consumers know about this dealership.

Let me know either way, may you have a great day
