Tips on Buying Cars: Buying car with a Bill of Sale, department of motor vehicles, 8k miles

Bought a car from Washington state and having it shipped to me in Tennessee.  Has about $5K in damage but the car is worth mid 20s.  Its an Infiniti G37S with 8K miles.  Don't know why it was declared total and title surrendered but only way to get title is to have the car inspected in WA and let them reissue title.  I do know that some other states will inspect and issue a new title but not sure which ones close to TN.  Do you know?  I certainly don't want to drive it across country to let them see it when repaired.

Thanks for your question.  I really don't know the answer to your question.  The only thing that I would do, is call the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in the surrounding states to see what their policies are and explain the situation to see what they say.
