Tips on Buying Cars: Car titles!!, chevy blazer, car titles

I recently bought a truck from an guy. He sold me a 2003 chevy blazer that had 117,000 miles for $1500. He told me that the truck had a salvaged title but it ran good and had minor front end damage. I went and look at the truck and the damage was really minor! So i got the truck. The title was from South Carolina and it had  "Not actual salvage - non replaceable" at the bottom of it. I sent the title off in North Carolina to come back in my name and the salvage part is no where on my title! What does The " Not actual salvage - non replaceable" mean? Does North Carolina titles differ from South Carolina, why did the title change after being listed in NC.? And the body of the vehicle looks good other than the headlights being busted and bumper and little crooked. The inside was in good shape but needs cleaning. Was a fair price for the vehicle?

Don't expect a salvage-titled vehicle to have a big red "salvage" stamped on it to warn you. Each state has different ways of classifying "title brands." Some in use are: reconstructed, rebuilt, restored, reconditioned, junk, unsafe, repaired and non-repairable.

RE. As for you getting a fair price.

If you went shopping for a chair that cost $100. and right next to it the identical chair $40. but the sticker said all 4 legs were broken at one point but now glued together and declared safe... THATS SALVAGE...how safe would you feel sitting on it, never mind going down the hwy at 70 mph
