Tips on Buying Cars: Can I return this car, vw jetta, window tint

Hi Jeremy,

I bought a 2009 VW Jetta SE signed the papers yesterday (10/8/08). The car was supposed to have tinted windows, but it didn't. I was assured that once the funding went through I could bring it back to the dealer to get them tinted free of charge. I was given a "due bill" that says in writing, "window tint upon funding." It is good for 30 days and it tells me to, "present this order when work is to be completed." I have called the dealer left two messages and an e-mail and have not received any responses. I want to know if I can take the car back within 72 hours if I don't get an answer and break the contract? I live in Las Vegas, NV if that makes a difference.

There is not a 72 hour cooling off period in the state of Nevada. Once you take delivery of this vehicle, you own it.  Now, as far as the window tint, you need to actually go to the dealership and find out.  Funding on a car deal usually takes about a week to 10 days for the dealership to get their money from the bank, so the fact that they have not called you is not something to be alarmed by, but just bad communication and follow up skills.
