Tips on Buying Cars: Newbie - Buying a new car questions, es350 lexus, lexus dealer

Question
I plan to buy an ES350 Lexus from a dealership and want a new 2008. I have looked at the packages and options and am a bit confused as it does not seem like I have all the options available to me for my area.
Does that mean I may not be able to get everything I want? Including color?
Also there is an Ultra-Luxury package that does not appear
with my zip code is entered where it says "build your car". I also do not see an a'la'carte option.

I also am not sure if some of the options are even worth having, but I guess that is personal choice.

I am sure they are now trying to get the 2008's out for the 2009 models and I plan to pay cash will that help me get a better deal?

My Uncle knows cars and will go with me & do some research on prices but what process should I do first? Should I visit several dealers & test drive first one day then go with my Uncle on a different day? Or not.

How do I handle them if I do go alone at first and not mess up the chance of a good deal when I return?

What is the best way to do all this?
Thanks

Answer
Hi May,

You should be able to et any package whatever your zip code. Call your local Lexus dealer, try and get a woman salesperson to deal with.

Paying cash for a vehicle doesn't help much because the dealer is losing your finance. They make money on financing the vehicles so there is no incentive to cheap sell the car.

Always ask for the invoice on the vehicle and offer them that. Consider a preowned with a few miles on it...will save you money.

Let me know if I can help further.
