Tips on Buying Cars: Rav4 is it an AWD?, toyota rav4, front wheel drive

I just bought a 2003
Toyota Rav4 2.0 VVT-i XT3 5-Dr; The Toyota dealer assured me that this is an AWD but I can't find anything in any papers that refer to AWD. How can I actually tell if it is an AWD?

I would really check into things. From what I can tell, the Rav4 came with two options in 2003; Front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. There was no AWD.

I would go directly to the dealership and take it right to the service lane. Tell the service writer that the AWD doesn't seem to be working. No traction, etc.

He/She will tell you right away if you have what you're suppose to have. Once he/she tells you that you have a front wheel drive vehicle, explain to them that you were told AWD. From there, it's time to see the head man in charge!!!
