Tips on Buying Cars: Used Cars, emissions test, car purchases

Question
Hi I recently bought a used car and I am aware of the lemon law but I am still curious about something.
I have had the car for less than 6 months and i recently took it to a specialist to have it looked at and he told me a number of things wrong with the car and originally the guy said he would fix it if i bought the parts. But I was also  told there is a box missing from under the hood that is supposed to be connected to the check engine light which in Ga if the light is on,an emissions test can NOT be performed much less passed. SO I am thinking he purposely unplugged the box and forged the emissions test, so my final question is do i have any legal rights against his actions? I also know that the car could have been sold as damaged/for parts or salvaged but he directly sold it as a used car. so do i have any legal rights against this?       Thanks for your help

Answer
Hi Nicole

When you say you're aware of the lemon law then that means you know it only applies to new car purchases.

I like to be on your side but from reading your question you been had and there is nothing you can do, you will have learned from this and am sure you will be much wiser next time around.

you may want to read this link on my website   http://www.usedcartips.org/privatevsdealer.html  it will explain the risk buying privately compared to buying from a dealer, from there study the site some, and should you have questions feel free to contact me through the site
