Tips on Buying Cars: wrecked ford explorer, ford explorer 4x4, wrecked ford

We purchased a  ford explorer 4x4 in July 2006, 3 weeks ago my od light came on and service engine light , took back to the dealership, they ran dig.test said 2 and od gear bad, also mechanic told my husband this vehicle was rear ended.....prior to our purchase ....we were never told this same dealership we purchased it from told us this??? Was this against the law , and also could this have had anything to do with our transmission trouble?

Hi Debbie: Sorry to hear of the trouble. Can you please answer a few questions for me, so I can better answer your question? Did you buy this as new or used. How many miles were on it when you bought it and how many now. Do you know the extent of the rear end damage, and what state do you live in? (Sounds like a bunch of goofy stuff but it will help me alot) Thanks, Jim.
