Tires: How old is my tire?, nissan 200sx, winston tires

I've got an old sports car (Nissan 200sx) that has old tires. I am trying to determine their age. But the DOT code isn't helping me much. On the tire sidewall is says DOT U9V9 WC2017 A01R. The tire size is 195-60-R15.

I know the tire was NOT manufactured in the 20th week of year 2017.
BTW the tires are Winston brand, didn't they go out of business about eight years ago? Help.

From that you should figure out that there is a possibility that the date code is 017 - 1st week of 1997!  See if the way the DOT code is molded if that makes sense.

Winston Tires?  As you can also see, the tires were made by Cooper.
