Question
I have a Toyota Corola  the tires on it now are 185 60 15
is that the only tire I should put on it
or is a small change in the   185 or 60 ok
thanks  Dave

Answer
David,

Let's start with the basics:

On every vehicle sold in the US - and I understand this is a worldwide practice as well - there is a sticker – commonly called the tire placard - that lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size.  The placard is usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box – but sometimes it is located in the trunk or on the fuel filler door.

I think you will find that the tire size listed on the vehicle tire placard is NOT 185/60R15, but since you didn't tell me the year of your Corolla nor the model, I can't tell you what the placard will say.

And I wish someone would publish a chart that delineates how much room there is in the fenderwells - but to date no one has.  Tire Rack and Discount Tire both do these measurements and are aware of what fits and what doesn't.  Plus they also pay attention to load carrying capacity.

I recommend you consult their web sites and follow their recommendations.
