Tires: Continental Tire Blow-out Damage, rear quarter panel, tire manufacturer

Question
I had a Continental Truck tire blow out at highway speed 70MPH and the tire casing came off and damaged the rear quarter panel of my truck. The tire had about 50% tread wear and was an original equipment tire. Total miles on the tire 35,100 miles.  Do I have any recourse against the tire manufacturer to pay for the truck damage as a result of the tire blowing out?

Answer
Gaylord,

First, blowouts can be caused by many things that are beyond the ability of the tire manufacturer to prevent.  It is, of course, unreasonable to have them pay for something they had no control of.

However, sometimes that are problems that a tire manufacturer will cover.  Contact Continental and file a claim and see what happens.
