Tires: DOT code, homony, 4 digits

Question
I have replaced my 4 tires with Michelin Homony. But all 4 DOT codes are the same as HDPA 00NX and there's no date 4 digits at the end. I am wondering if these are counterfeit. Please tell me what I can do for this situation.

Thanks,
Kwangho.

Answer
Kwangho,

The full DOT code only has to be on one side and it is allowable to have a partial code on one side - and it's obvious what you have found that!

Here's what I wrote up about DOT codes:

I wouldn't worry about counterfeit tires.  They are so expensive to make that it would be better to make a separate brand and sell it legitiimately.
