Tires: Tire size replacement, inflation pressure, tire failure

Will a P235/75R/16 work in place of the original P245/75R/16?  Thanks for any info you can provide.

No.  That would be going down in load carrying capacity and that increases the risk of a load related tire failure which sometimes has tragic results.  Remember the Ford / Firestone thing a couple of years ago, where they talked about the low inflation pressure?  Same thing!
