Tires: tire sire, ford f 250, bf goodrich

Barry. i recently bought a 2003 ford f-250 supercab super duty short bed fx4 4x4 5.4 gas engine automatic. the tires on it are bf goodrich lt 265/75r16D and the sticker in the door says the tires size of lt265/75r16E  Why would some one put the wrong load rating tire on and what are my limitations with this tire? thanks in advance.

I can not answer the question about why other people do the things they do, but concerning the Load Range D tires, if the placard says the tires need to use 80 psi on the rear, then you've lost 1200# payload capacity. However, if the placard says something less than that inflation pressure, post a followup and I will recalculate.
