Tires: Retread tires, light truck tires, retread tires

Question
What is your take on retreaded light truck tires?  Do they hold their own pretty good or do they go bad/wear down a lot quicker?

Answer
Brian,

The casing on light truck tires is what the real issue is - and, by and large, this is so highly dependent on what the history of that particular casing is.

So unless you are supplying the casing - and know you took extra good care of it - or your running a slow speed operation where a tire failure is merely an inconvenience, rather than a life threatening issue, I would suggest you stay away from retreaded light truck tires.

Besides, new tires aren't that much more expensive.
