Tires: new tires+balance+alignment, bmw bmw, bmw dealer

I am purchasing 4 new tires from the BMW dealer to replace the tires on my 2007 BMW328xi.  Mounting and balancing are included in the cost of the tire.  However, they are asking for $150 for an alignment.  Is the alignment necessary or advised?

Is it necessary?  No.

Is it advised?  Yes, particularly with a BMW.  BMW's are noted for developing inside shoulder wear and some heel and toe wear.  An alignment, particularly if the guy doing the alignment knows to minimize the camber, will result in longer tire life.
