Tires: correct pressure, jeep cherokee sport, tire placard

Question
What is the operating air pressure for 31x10.50R15 tire on a 1993 jeep Cherokee sport 4.0 liter V6 4x4?

Answer
Damion,

On every vehicle sold in the US, there is a sticker – commonly called the tire placard - that lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size.  The placard is usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box – but sometimes it is located in the trunk or on the fuel filler door.

Acording to Tire Guides, a 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport's placard ought to say the original tires were P235/75R15's inflated to 30 psi.  Please check the placard to make sure it is correct, because what I am about to write is based on that.

In order to carry the same load a 31X10.50R15LT needs to use 45 psi.
